We are thrilled to announce a new blog for our associate photographers Aaron, Dave and Mauricio:

All three photographers have been extremely busy this year with weddings and other shoots, and we now have a blog to show off all their most recent photos from all over the country. Aaron, Dave and Mauricio have become such an important part of our business, and this is just one more step in continuing that progress.

Thank you to Flosites for once again creating a site for us that is exactly what we were looking for. Ross, in particular, has spent months and months with us making sure everything is in its right place, and we couldn’t be happier working with him. Sheela first wrote us two years ago – July 17, 2008, to be exact – saying that her wedding probably wouldn’t be for another couple years, but wanted to get more information for “whenever the final date will be.” She was not even engaged at the time, but really into photography, and really in love with her boyfriend, Aaron.

Shortly after Sheela wrote us, Aaron started writing us, asking us general photography questions about cameras and lenses. He was always really nice and polite in his emails, so we helped him out as much as we could. We didn’t know at the time that he was connected to Sheela. Then a couple months later, we posted on our blog that we were looking for a photographer to intern with us. Sheela saw the post first, and urged Aaron to apply, which he did. As soon as we met Aaron, we knew we wanted to work with him. He was just as nice in person as he was in emails, and so he started coming to weddings with us and helping with Photoshop work. Now, Aaron is one of our associate photographers and best friends. That one email from Sheela changed so much about all our lives.

Sheela and Aaron’s wedding date fell almost exactly two years after Sheela’s first email to us, just as she predicted.

For the wedding, Sheela and Aaron decided to have everything in the backyard of Aaron’s parents’ new house. Their families spent three months landscaping the property to get everything ready for the wedding day, and that effort made the wedding feel incredibly intimate, personal and real. It was exactly how Sheela imagined it from the beginning.

Their wedding night was the first night they spent together in their very first apartment. Since then, they have been spending much of their free time shopping for their first couch, first kitchen table, first everything. Not many couples these days get to have a beginning like this. Sheela and Aaron’s marriage is how so many young girls imagine their newlywed lives will be, and we can’t wait to watch their relationship grow for years and years to come.

Ginger and Brannan got married at the very first place I ever photographed a wedding at in California — the Fitzhaven Estate. Because I feel like I started my California wedding career at the Fitzhaven, I am always excited to go back to that beautiful house overlooking Lake Tahoe.

Erin and I have gotten to hang out with Ginger and Brannan a couple times, so we already knew how fun they are to be around and how excited they were about their wedding. Brannan is so expressive all the time, and Ginger is incredibly sweet. Their wedding was a perfect example of who they are as a couple. It was sincere and emotional, but still had the best dancing we have ever seen in broad daylight.

As a bonus, we once again got to work with Christen of Merrily Wed, who planned everything perfectly, and as always, gave us plenty of time to photograph the couple when the light was at its prettiest in the late afternoon. If you’re getting married on Lake Tahoe, Merrily’s the best.

About an hour before Jeff walked down the aisle, he told us, “I cannot wait to get that ring on my finger.”

We have seen a lot of wedding-day happiness in our time, but never have we seen a couple so outright euphoric to be marrying each other. Every moment, every glance, every toast, every dance step, felt full of importance, emotion and pure love.

On top of that, this was a Jewish and Persian wedding, so the dancing got under way during cocktail hour, before the actual reception started at the Ralston Hall mansion. And everyone was so excited to do the Hora that the chairs came out even before Jeff and Golnaz’s first dance. Golnaz and Jeff floated through every moment of the day, happy to have everyone they love surrounding them, dancing with them, celebrating with them. It was a wonderful day to witness, and reminded us just how important a wedding day can be for everyone.
