In February we photographed Kay and Thomas’ beautiful wedding overlooking the ocean at Villa Caletas in Costa Rica. Dave, our friend and associate photographer, has known Kay for years and was also planning on going to the wedding as a guest, so we decided to experiment with shooting some video while we were there. Dave handled all the filming and audio, and our friend Vlad Chaloupka (vladfilms.com) put his magic editing skills on everything Dave shot. We’re really thrilled with how the film turned out. There are some parts of a wedding day that film can show better than stills, and Dave and Vlad brought all those aspects out perfectly. Thank you Kay and Thomas for letting us try something new. We don’t know if video is something that we want to explore ourselves for every wedding, but we always love working with Vlad, who is in our opinion the best wedding filmmaker for brides who want an artistic documentary video.
